Douglas Cattle Company is a 180-acre ranch in Levy County, Florida.
Named after a great man, Douglas Samuels, husband and father to the current owners of the ranch.
Douglas Cattle began in 2018 with a herd of 28 commercial cows.
In 2021, we purchased 3 fullblood Fleckvieh Simmentals, making us one of the only breeders in Florida to provide this variety of Simmental. We are excited to have Simmental as part of our foundation going forward. Red Angus is also a core part of our program for its moderate frame and high beef quality attributes, as is Brahma influence for its heat and insect tolerance in this environment.
We are focusing on building a herd full of strong production animals. We have many commercial cattle of the highest quality to contribute to the beef industry through strategic crossbreeding. We love the variety in our herd and all the great qualities they bring to our operation.
Another major focus of ours at Douglas Cattle is providing high-quality, small-batch beef to consumers. We raise steers from our herd to provide ranch-raised, high-quality, grass-fed, grain-finished beef to those who value it.
We are proud of our calves and are grateful to say that quite a few of them have been shown around the state of Florida. We hope to continue providing great show calves for youth throughout the state.
